HI!! I'm Sagar Bhatnagar. I have walked the planet since '77 (And, God, have I walked the planet- I have lived in 8 different Indian cities, have visited more than 40 other Indian cities and explored more than 10 international destinations. Mother Earth must be bored of finding me everywhere over her!)
I am now in Austin, USA and recently graduated with an MS in Mechanical Engineering (specializing in Production & Logistics Management) from The University of Texas at Austin which is a top-10 US university. Presently, I am working as a Project Manager in an Austin-based company, working on six sigma, ERP implementation and related gobbledygook! But there is more to me than just a degree and a good job...
Browse it -I'm sure we'll have something in common!
Mr. Dilettante
What matters most is what does not seem to matter at all! Confused? It's just a way of saying that the 'time-passes' that we have might actually define us. It is true in with me. Here are my favorite 'waste-of-times':
Give me your hand
My love affair with palmistry started in '97 when I read my first book on the subject. Since then I have read more than a 100 palms. I do not believe in it completely, but it never fails to amaze me how accurate these predictions can get!
Shake Your Bon-Bon!
Dancing is my passion! I am into jazz, disco, break-dance and fusion. Lately, I am also dabbling in salsa, cha-cha, samba and swing.. I have won several choreography awards and even staged some professional performances. If you are looking for a dance partner who'll not embarrass you, look no further!
Pen IS Mightier than the Sword!
One of my cherished treasures is my first poem that I wrote at the age of 8 (I actually rhymed 'went' with 'changed' but then some people get their poetic license a bit early!). I graduated to stories and articles after that. Several of my writings have been published. Click here to read a few!
Words say it all
Reading is in my blood! I inherited this trait from my Dad. I read my first real novel at the age of 7 (it was called 'Five on the mystery moor') and have never looked back. Although my favorites are Ayn Rand and Richard Bach, I am a voracious reader and read anything that I can put my hands on. So, watch out for your books when I'm around!
What's the deal with wheels!
My favorite fact about friction: Rolling friction is less than sliding friction! I love to roll bike around, roller-skate, ice-skating (even sliding-friction is fun at times!), roller-blade, skateboard ... I do it all. My dream is to go mountain-boarding on the Alps one day!
Give me Wings!
I love playing Badminton. As a junior, i have represented my state. I also won the college championship 'Wings'. The pain and sweat of Badminton really gives me a real high!
Fishy Business!
My love for everything aquatic started recently. Maybe it has something to do with my name! I am now a proud nurturer of a 30 gallon tank-of-life. It is filled with about 15 tropical fish! They are a joy to watch and nurture. Hey- recently my Platy gave birth to a cute little red baby-Platy! So, you can call me grand-dad now! :)
Who Am I?
Who am I? That's a tough question because I epitomize dichotomy!!
An engineer by profession but a poet at heart. A martinet at work but a jester among friends. But first of all, I'm a true friend. Due to these myriad colors I display, my friends do call me 'the eternal rainbow'! If you are my friend the colors of my rainbow are governed by your colors! If you are down and BLUE, I'm a patient ear listening to your woes, a friendly hand holding your hand and fighting the storm together. If you are PINK and wanna let your hair down, I am a party animal, laughing with you, partying with you and painting the town RED!!
Welcome ashore.....
For my Friends!
I said I'm a true friend ...but it takes one to know none!!. A friend is someone to laugh with, someone to spend those ticklish moments with, someone to play with (and also to fight with!).
I've composed a short poem for all my friends, I hope you like it:
"In the darkest of tunnels;
The glimmer of light you see at the end;
Is nothing but my outstretched hand;
Urging u to be a friend"
(I'm feeling naughty and I just can't resist some passing pun on my own poem-
"In the darkest of tunnels;
The glimmer of light at the end
....Is the headlight of an oncoming train!!"
Ha! Ha! That's the lighter side of
poetry!!)
